Whenever your business makes purchases with the intention of reselling the items, you can choose to provide the seller with a Resale Certificate. This allows your business to make tax-free purchases for the purpose of resale.
In most states, a Resale Certificate is different from a Seller's Permit. A Resale Certificate is usually a form with both the seller's and the buyer's information, lists the items being purchased for the purpose of resale, and is signed by the buyer.

ViaCheff is located in Virginia, so if the Resale Certificate of your state provides the same information as the Virginia Resale Exemption Certificate (Form ST-10), the Department of Taxation will accept it.
There are several states that can issue a Streamlined Sales Tax Agreement Certificate of Exemption. They are the following:

The remaining states cannot issue a Streamlined Sales Tax Agreement Certificate of Exemption. These states have specific resale certificates.
Alabama: Sales Tax License
Alaska doesn't have statewide sales tax. Because of this, a tax exemption certificate is not necessary. Please provide a proof of business registration.
Arizona: Arizona Resale Certificate (Form 5000A)
California: California Resale Certificate
Colorado: Colorado Sales Tax License
Connecticut: Connecticut Sales & Use Tax Resale Certificate
Delaware doesn't have state or local sales taxes. Because of this, sales tax exemption certificates and reseller certificates are not applicable to Delaware. Please provide a proof of business registration.
Florida: Florida Annual Resale Certificate for Sales Tax
Hawaii: Hawaii Resale Certificate for Goods
Idaho: Idaho Sales Tax Resale Certificate (Form ST-101)
Illinois: Illinois Certificate of Resale (Form CRT-61)
Louisiana: Louisiana Resale Certificate
Maine: Provide a filled out copy of your Maine Resale Certificate. See page 7 of the Maine Revenue Services Instructional Bulletin No. 54 for a sample of the resale certificate.
Maryland: Maryland Suggested Blanket Resale Certificate
Massachusetts: Massachussets Sales Tax Resale Certificate (Form ST-4)
Mississippi: Mississippi Sellers Permit
Missouri: Missouri Sales and Use Tax Exemption Certificate
Montana: Montana Business Registry Resale Certificate
New Hampshire: The State of New Hampshire doesn't have a sales and use tax. Please provide proof of business registration.
New Mexico: Non-Taxable Transaction Certificate (NTTC) Type 2
New York: New York Resale Certificate (Form ST-120)
Oregon: Oregon Business Registry Resale Certificate
Pennsylvania: Pennsylvania Exemption Certificate (Form REV-1220)
South Carolina: South Carolina Resale Certificate (Form ST-8A)
Texas: Texas Sales and Use Tax Resale Certificate
Virginia: Virginia Sales and Use Tax Certificate of Exemption (Form ST-10)
